Dream came true on 3rd December 2011!

Being a big Rajasthan Royals fan, what can we dream of - Getting a chance to meet Rajasthan Royals cricketers and of course to meet the legend of Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid! I am among those lucky people who got this opportunity to fulfill a big dream of my life and all the credit goes to RR management team.

I am still feeling that I am living in a fairy tale and i have no mood to come out of it. I took part in the RR captaincy contest which I came to know from the RR site which I regularly visit when i get time. I am a person who believes in miracles and that's why i always look forward to take part in such contests. On 1st Dec, when I was working in the office and thought of taking a break, i opened my Facebook page. It was then I came to know from a friend that I won the captaincy contest. I didn't believe it so easily until I check the RR Facebook page and saw my name there. The first word that came from my mouth was - "Omg!!" I was finding it hard to control my excitement in office and my hands were shivering. After all, I was getting a golden chance to meet the captain of my beloved team- RR! In some time, I got the call from RR and they confirmed that I will be attending the press conference of RR in Jaipur where they would be announcing the captain to the world and I will also be meeting the captain. "What can be better than that!", I thought. Now what I had to do was to guess the captain whom I would meet. Will it be Dravid or Watson; these two names were only there in my mind. Every one including me was more sure of Dravid being the captain.

On 3rd December at 2:30 pm, I reached Jaipur Marriott sharp on time. I was delighted to meet another crazy RR fan there; one of my Fb friend- Mandakini. I was so pleased to see few more RR fans whom I interacted on RR site before - CV and Mridul. We were in the lobby and were curious to know who else would be there. We were expecting some RR players from Rajasthan Ranji team too as they were having their domestic matches at that time in Jaipur. Our expectations didn't went in vain when we actually met the Rajasthan Ranji heroes. When I saw Ashok Menaria, Deepak Chahar, Aakash Chopra, Dishant Yagnik and Pankaj Singh together, that moment was completely awesome. I don't know how much they mean to others but for me, they are the true rock stars. We all took their autographs, had a bit of chat with them and clicked many pictures with them. My excitement was too high especially when i met Ashok Menaria who is my personal favorite. I didn't want that moment to stop but something more important was yet to come.

So here I was in the RR press conference when I saw Rahul Dravid sitting on the stage. The CEO announced the news to the media which we RR fans were waiting from so long. The Wall, Mr. Dependable Rahul Dravid was declared the captain of Rajasthan Royals who will be leading the team after Shane Warne. Soon, my name was announced and i was told to come on the stage. That magical moment arrived when I went to the stage and shook hands with the legendary cricketer. He wished me congratulations and I also said the same to him. That very moment can never be expressed in to words. There were so many pictures that were clicked at the stage which had both me and Rahul Dravid together which i will treasure forever. More over they will also be used to make my friends and family members jealous.

Such golden moments and opportunities are important to keep us going in life. Thanks to the RR management for giving me such a beautiful opportunity which i will remember forever. Each and every moment was so special for me; not just meeting Dravid but also to meet the RR players of Rajasthan team and to meet the loyal fans of RR like me. Hope such events will keep on occurring to keep us motivated, to maintain our craziness and to keep our passion alive for our team. Halla bol!
